PriusKings Hybrid Battery Limited Warranty & Return Policy

Current Warranty — Effective October 23, 2026

This is the current PriusKings Hybrid Battery Limited Warranty & Return Policy, applicable to eligible hybrid battery purchases made on or after October 23, 2026.

Your warranty coverage is determined by the warranty option purchased and the terms applicable at the time of purchase.

Please review the complete warranty below for coverage details, diagnostic requirements, customer responsibilities, exclusions, warranty transfers, and return policies.

Requesting Warranty Assistance

If you're experiencing a possible hybrid battery issue, please submit a Warranty Assistance Request.

Submitting a request begins the warranty review process but does not automatically confirm coverage or authorize repair, replacement, or other expenses.

Complete Warranty Terms

The full PriusKings Hybrid Battery Limited Warranty & Return Policy, effective October 23, 2026, appears belowThis Limited Warranty applies to eligible PriusKings hybrid batteries purchased on or after the effective date. The specific warranty term purchased is shown on the customer's invoice or order documentation. Coverage is limited to the PriusKings hybrid battery and is subject to all terms, conditions, exclusions, diagnostic requirements, customer responsibilities, and limitations below.

1. Limited Warranty Coverage

PriusKings warrants its hybrid battery against covered defects during normal vehicle operation for the warranty period specified on the customer's invoice.

If PriusKings determines, after completion of the required warranty evaluation, that an eligible PriusKings hybrid battery has experienced a covered failure, PriusKings will, at its discretion, repair the battery or provide a replacement reconditioned battery.

This warranty covers the PriusKings hybrid battery only unless expressly stated otherwise in writing. It does not guarantee that repair or replacement will correct every warning light, diagnostic trouble code, drivability problem, or other vehicle condition. A warning light, diagnostic trouble code, or symptom does not by itself establish a covered battery failure or authorize warranty service.

2. Warranty Period and Activation

The warranty period begins on the original purchase or installation date, as applicable, and continues for the warranty term shown on the customer's invoice.

The required PriusKings Warranty Agreement must be signed and returned electronically, including through Dropbox Sign or by email, within fourteen (14) days of installation or delivery, as applicable. Physical mailing is not required for initial warranty activation. Failure to return the signed agreement within this period will render the warranty null and void, subject to applicable law.

3. Required Warranty Assistance Process

All customers requesting warranty assistance must first complete the PriusKings Warranty Assistance Request form at priuskings.com/warranty-assistance.

A complete request must include the information and documentation reasonably required by PriusKings, including the comprehensive diagnostic report described below. PriusKings may also request VIN and mileage verification, dashboard photographs, service or repair records, maintenance and operating history, information regarding accidents, flooding, electrical modifications or extended non-use, and other records or photographs reasonably necessary to evaluate the reported condition.

Submitting the form does not confirm coverage and does not authorize or guarantee diagnostics, travel, labor, repair, replacement, shipping, reimbursement, refund, or other service. A claim remains under evaluation until PriusKings determines that the documentation and diagnostic information are sufficient.

4. Comprehensive Diagnostic Report Required

As a condition of warranty evaluation, the customer must provide a current, comprehensive diagnostic report from a qualified professional automotive repair facility or authorized dealership capable of properly diagnosing the vehicle's hybrid and related systems.

The report must include all available current and pending diagnostic trouble codes, applicable subcodes/detail codes, and available diagnostic findings relevant to the vehicle's condition - not solely codes believed to relate to the hybrid battery.

Basic code-reader results, screenshots, code lists, or limited scans from auto-parts stores or similar sources are not sufficient by themselves to satisfy the diagnostic requirement.

A comprehensive report is required because conditions elsewhere in the vehicle - including the engine, 12-volt electrical system, charging system, inverter, transaxle, hybrid cooling system, battery cooling fan, and other systems - may affect hybrid-battery operation, contribute to premature deterioration or failure, or create symptoms/codes mistaken for battery failure.

The customer is responsible for obtaining and paying for the required diagnostic evaluation. PriusKings does not reimburse diagnostic or towing expenses. PriusKings may require additional diagnostic information, testing, photographs, service records, or inspection when reasonably necessary.

5. Warranty Eligibility Determination

Providing a diagnostic report, including one containing hybrid-battery-related codes, does not automatically establish warranty eligibility or entitle the customer to repair or replacement.

Warranty service is provided only after PriusKings determines, based on diagnostic information and other reasonably requested documentation, testing, or inspection, that the PriusKings hybrid battery has experienced a failure covered by this warranty.

PriusKings may deny coverage when available diagnostic information, vehicle condition, maintenance/service history, inspection, or other evidence reasonably indicates that battery failure was caused or materially contributed to by a condition excluded under this warranty. If information is incomplete, inconsistent, inconclusive, or insufficient, PriusKings may require additional diagnosis, testing, inspection, or documentation before making a determination.

6. Verification Before Warranty Service

Diagnostic information may be independently verified before warranty service is performed. If information obtained by PriusKings or its technician differs materially from information previously supplied, additional diagnosis may be required.

If the vehicle does not have a covered hybrid battery failure, or if the reported condition is caused or materially contributed to by another component or condition, the customer is responsible for applicable diagnostic, travel, labor, installation/removal, shipping, and other service charges.

A technician traveling to the customer's location, shipment of a battery, collection of a deposit, or preliminary discussion of possible warranty service does not constitute final confirmation that the battery is defective or the claim is covered.

7. Customer Cooperation

The customer must reasonably cooperate with the warranty evaluation process, including providing requested diagnostic information, documentation, photographs, vehicle history, service records, and access to the vehicle when necessary. Failure or refusal to provide information or access reasonably necessary to determine the cause may prevent PriusKings from completing the evaluation or providing warranty service.

Customers must not open, disassemble, repair, modify, or permit unauthorized persons to service the PriusKings hybrid battery unless specifically authorized by PriusKings. Initial installation by the customer or a mechanic selected by the customer is permitted, but improper installation, handling, or service that causes or materially contributes to battery damage is not covered. The self-installation provisions in Section 8 apply.

8. Customer Costs

Except where specifically stated otherwise, this Limited Warranty is a parts warranty after the initial thirty (30) days. For batteries installed by the customer or an independently selected mechanic, coverage is parts-only throughout the warranty period, including the first thirty (30) days.

First 30 days — PriusKings installation: For a confirmed, approved covered battery failure occurring within thirty (30) days after the original PriusKings installation, PriusKings will cover the approved battery repair or replacement, necessary battery installation/removal labor, technician travel, and necessary shipping. Coverage is subject to the required warranty evaluation and excludes expenses associated with non-covered vehicle problems.

Customer or independent-mechanic installation: Customers may install the battery themselves or use a mechanic of their choice. For any approved covered defect, PriusKings will repair or replace the battery under the applicable parts warranty, but will not cover installation/removal labor, technician travel, or other installation-related charges, even within the first thirty (30) days. For an approved covered failure within the first thirty (30) days after delivery, PriusKings will cover necessary authorized warranty shipping, provided the customer returns the original defective battery as instructed. After thirty (30) days, shipping is the customer's responsibility.
After 30 days — PriusKings installation: PriusKings covers the approved battery repair or replacement only. The customer is responsible for applicable installation/removal labor, technician travel, shipping, diagnostics, towing, and other related expenses. Customers must obtain and pay for the required professional diagnostic report; diagnostic and towing expenses are not reimbursable unless expressly authorized by PriusKings in writing. The thirty-day period begins on the original installation or delivery date, as applicable, and does not restart following warranty service or replacement.

9. Deposits, Cancellations, Travel and Shipping

Deposits reserve inventory and authorize PriusKings to begin battery preparation, order fulfillment, technician coordination, and/or shipping arrangements.

Deposits are non-refundable once battery preparation, shipment, or technician scheduling has begun. If PriusKings approves a cancellation before preparation or fulfillment has begun, any refund will be reduced by applicable non-refundable payment-processing fees incurred by PriusKings in connection with the original transaction and refund, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Once a battery has been shipped, the deposit is non-refundable. The customer may also be responsible for applicable return shipping, handling, and restocking charges.

A $350 deposit is required when a technician is scheduled to travel to the customer's location. An additional $150 deposit may be required when battery shipping is necessary. Payment of a deposit does not constitute a determination that the battery has failed or that a warranty claim is covered.

10. Shipping

For a confirmed, approved covered battery failure occurring within thirty (30) days following the original installation or delivery, as applicable, PriusKings will cover necessary authorized shipping for approved warranty service, including approved self-installed or independently installed battery claims, provided the defective battery is returned as instructed. After the first thirty (30) days, shipping costs for warranty service are the customer's responsibility. The initial thirty-day period does not restart after a warranty repair or replacement. For self-installed or independently installed batteries, this shipping provision does not provide labor, installation, removal, or travel coverage.

When shipping is required, customers must follow PriusKings shipping instructions. The customer is responsible for properly packaging the battery and for loss or damage during customer-arranged shipment, subject to applicable law and carrier responsibility.

11. Battery Care and Vehicle Requirements

To maintain warranty eligibility, the vehicle must be operated for at least 45 minutes every 21 days and driven at least 5,500 miles and no more than 20,000 miles per year during the warranty period. Mileage may be prorated from installation when determining compliance.

The vehicle and its engine, 12-volt electrical system, charging system, hybrid system, cooling system, and related components must be maintained in operating condition sufficient to properly support the hybrid battery. The customer is responsible for maintaining the vehicle in a condition that does not damage, excessively discharge, overheat, or otherwise adversely affect the hybrid battery. The battery must not be opened, altered, disassembled, tampered with, or moved to another vehicle without written authorization.

12. Conditions Not Covered

This Limited Warranty does not cover battery failure, deterioration, or damage caused or materially contributed to by: improper installation or service that causes or materially contributes to battery damage (self-installation or installation by an independent mechanic alone is not an exclusion); opening, modification, tampering, disassembly, alteration, or damage to the battery or warranty labels; unauthorized transfer to another vehicle; accident, collision, fire, flooding, water intrusion, extreme environmental conditions, or physical damage; improper storage or extended non-operation; failure to meet minimum-use requirements; poor or neglected maintenance; engine failure, misfire, failure to start, insufficient engine power, or other engine conditions preventing normal hybrid operation; running out of fuel; a weak, defective, improperly maintained, or otherwise problematic 12-volt battery/electrical system where it causes or contributes to the reported condition; inverter, hybrid drive, transaxle, charging-system, electrical-system, head-gasket, brake-system, cooling-system, battery-cooling-fan, or other non-battery failures; blocked, damaged, disconnected, or improperly functioning hybrid-battery cooling components; vehicle/electrical modifications or bypasses inconsistent with manufacturer specifications; any condition that excessively discharges, overheats, damages, or otherwise adversely affects the hybrid battery; undocumented shipping damage; a vehicle being totaled or written off; fraudulent, altered, materially inaccurate, or unverifiable mileage, diagnostic, maintenance, or warranty information; or other conditions outside PriusKings' reasonable control.

The existence of another vehicle fault does not automatically void the warranty. However, battery failure, deterioration, or damage caused or materially contributed to by a non-covered vehicle condition is not covered.

Examples of codes that may indicate non-battery vehicle conditions include P0A94 (inverter/converter performance), P0A93 (inverter cooling), P0A0F (engine failed to start), P3190 (poor engine power), P3191 (engine does not start), and P3193 (fuel-related condition), where applicable to the vehicle. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive; code meanings and applicability vary by model and year. A code alone does not establish the cause of a failure or automatically invalidate warranty coverage. Coverage depends on whether diagnostic findings establish a covered battery defect or a non-covered condition that caused or materially contributed to the failure.

13. Mileage Verification

The customer must provide a clear, current photograph of the vehicle dashboard odometer displaying the total accumulated mileage whenever requested for warranty verification. The customer is responsible for maintaining a functioning, readable odometer. Vehicle-history reports, CARFAX, service records, diagnostic estimates, and other alternative mileage documents will not substitute for the required dashboard odometer photograph. Failure to provide the required photograph, or evidence of inaccurate, altered, or misrepresented mileage, may result in denial of coverage where warranty eligibility cannot be verified, subject to applicable law.

14. Payment Requirements

All amounts owed to PriusKings for products, installation, diagnostics, travel, shipping, labor, or other authorized services must be paid when due. If payment for the original purchase or service is not made in full within fourteen (14) days when due, warranty coverage may be suspended or rendered void, subject to applicable law.

15. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If a customer initiates a chargeback, payment dispute, financing dispute, or similar claim through a bank, credit card provider, lender, financing company, or payment provider relating to PriusKings products or services, the customer's warranty will immediately become null and void, regardless of the outcome of the dispute, and PriusKings will be unable to provide further service of any kind to that customer, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this provision is intended to waive any right that cannot legally be waived.

16. Warranty Transfer

Lifetime warranties are not transferable. Other eligible warranties may be transferred one time with the vehicle, provided the new owner physically mails all required transfer documentation to PriusKings and PriusKings receives it within twenty (20) days of the vehicle sale. The new owner must contact PriusKings for transfer instructions and provide requested proof of ownership, identification, vehicle registration, and other required documentation. Electronic submission alone does not complete a transfer. The transfer is not effective unless PriusKings receives and verifies the required documents within that period. Selling or transferring the battery separately from the vehicle voids transfer eligibility.

17. Returns, Refunds, and Unresolved Vehicle Issues

17.1 Non-Defective Products — All Sales Final

All sales of non-defective hybrid batteries are final. PriusKings does not accept returns or provide refunds for batteries that are functioning properly, including when a customer changes their mind, no longer wants the battery, determines that the battery was not the cause of the original vehicle problem, or experiences mechanical, electrical, or other vehicle problems unrelated to the PriusKings battery. Dashboard warning lights, diagnostic trouble codes, drivability concerns, or other vehicle symptoms do not, by themselves, establish that the PriusKings battery is defective.

17.2 Defective Batteries and Warranty Returns

Only batteries determined through the required diagnostic and warranty evaluation process to have a covered defect are eligible for return under the applicable Limited Warranty. For approved warranty claims, PriusKings may repair or replace the defective battery in accordance with the warranty terms. A confirmed defect does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund. All warranty returns require prior authorization. Shipping, installation, removal, technician travel, diagnostics, and related charges remain governed by the applicable warranty provisions, including the initial thirty (30) days and the customer-installation limitations.

17.3 Optional Resolution of Unresolved Vehicle Issues

If, after reasonable diagnostic and service efforts, PriusKings determines that a customer's reported vehicle issue cannot be conclusively diagnosed or resolved, PriusKings may, at its discretion, offer to discontinue further service and resolve the specific matter through an agreed partial refund, subject to applicable law. This option is not an automatic customer entitlement and may be offered only with PriusKings' express approval. Before proceeding, the customer and PriusKings must agree in writing to the specific resolution terms, including the refund amount, itemized deductions, battery return arrangements, and any applicable return-shipping responsibility. The customer must return the PriusKings battery as instructed; no refund will be issued until the battery is received and the agreed return conditions are satisfied. PriusKings may deduct reasonable, documented installation, removal, diagnostic, shipping, technician travel, and other service expenses actually incurred and agreed in writing. Any remaining eligible balance will then be refunded. This provision does not authorize termination of mandatory warranty remedies or limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

17.4 No Unauthorized Returns

No battery may be returned without PriusKings' prior authorization and return instructions. Unauthorized returns may be refused. Approved returns must comply with the provided packaging, shipping, identification, and documentation requirements.

18. Core Returns

Customers returning non-OEM Panasonic modules as part of a required core return may be charged the applicable core fee. The current core fee is $850. Core-return requirements and applicable fees are governed by the customer's purchase documentation and terms in effect for that transaction.

19. Limitation of Warranty and Liability

Except as expressly provided in this Limited Warranty and to the extent permitted by applicable law, PriusKings makes no additional warranty, express or implied, regarding the hybrid battery.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PriusKings is not responsible for consequential or incidental losses resulting from vehicle downtime or inability to use the vehicle, including lost wages, lost business, rental-car expenses, transportation expenses, towing expenses, or similar costs. To the extent permitted by applicable law, PriusKings' liability arising from the covered product will not exceed the amount paid for the applicable PriusKings product or service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

20. Repair-Only Products

Where a customer purchases a hybrid-battery repair option rather than a complete replacement battery, coverage applies only to the components or modules specifically replaced by PriusKings during the original repair, as identified in service documentation. During the applicable repair warranty period, PriusKings may repair or replace the originally serviced component at its discretion when it determines that a covered failure occurred. Repair-option warranties are parts-only unless otherwise stated in writing. Applicable diagnostic, installation, travel, shipping, and other service charges remain the customer's responsibility according to the purchased repair option.

21. Warranty Documentation and Applicable Version

The customer's invoice identifies the warranty term purchased. For installations completed before 2025, PriusKings may require the original handwritten receipt showing vehicle mileage at installation as proof of warranty eligibility.

The warranty terms applicable to a purchase are generally those associated with the customer's purchase and warranty documentation. This policy is not intended to retroactively reduce warranty coverage previously purchased by a customer.
